Baby Toes

Emma has found her feet!  She's not trying to eat them yet, but she's grabbing them and she seems to understand that they're attached to her.  It's pretty cute.  I tell you, I love this child.  It's amazing how you can have such love for each of your children, and the bond between mom and new baby is so special.

In Hannah news... the night before last, an appliance repair man visited the house to fix our dryer, which had been making a loud squealing noise.  Hannah was finishing her dinner when he arrived and pretty promptly Hannah said that she wanted to go upstairs to see "the man."  So we went upstairs, where he had started disassembling the dryer to investigate.  Hannah watched him so intently, asking questions about what he was doing ("What ah doin?") and whether he had fixed it and whether he was all done.  The repair man was very nice and thought it was cute that Hannah was so interested.  When he had finished, we all went downstairs so he could write up a receipt.  While he was doing so, Hannah wanted to show him her toys.  She called him "Man" (probably because we referred to him as the repair man).  "Man, my fire truck!  Man, my cards!"  She made sure to say goodbye to him when he left, too.

Last night was not quite as pleasant.  Hannah whined for help with her socks, help with her cards, apple juice (which she doesn't get with dinner), and so on.  She didn't want to eat, didn't want to be bathed, and was almost put to bed with neither.  It was a rough night - and it was all Daddy's problem because Mommy had the stomach flu.  Daddy has his work cut out for him the next couple days as Mommy is heading to California for a work retreat (thankfully, the stomach flu has passed).  Good luck, daddy!
