Aunt Sammy and Durban moved in last week! We have been enjoying having them here. The girls love Aunt Sammy and get upset when she leaves for a day or two (like to stay Pia's on her birthday). Hannah loves to get let Aunt Sammy know when her clock is Lellow (or before then), which is fine by me! Aunt Sammy has been a fun addition to our home life.
The girls are also enamored with Durban. He is small and sweet and not as in-your-face as Oliver. They couldn't get enough of him when Aunt Sammy and Durban first got here. They were hugging and petting him all weekend. Durban seemed fine with it and after a couple days warmed up to his new surroundings. He would sit on anything on the floor that looked soft, like Emma's jackets (which she is obsessed with) or Hannah's nanny. Emma was not so thrilled when she found Durban lying on her jacket. The petting and hugging turned to pulling (the jacket with Durban on it) and pushing (Durban off the jacket). Emma won the battle. Durban proceeded to sit on Emma's other jacket.
And later, I gave Durban Daddy's sweatshirt to sleep on since he didn't have a bed. He has a bed now, but he's at Aunt Sammy's friend Pia's house, so he's not here to enjoy it yet. Oliver is taking care of that for him. He doesn't seem to mind that he's too big for it.
