Jim really wanted us to come to his bike race this past Saturday, and it seemed like the weather was clearing up, and we had plans to meet up with the Barnetts (Sarah and kids to watch the race, then families out to dinner). So we loaded up and drove to Superior for the race. It started drizzling right after we parked, and even though we could have sat in the back of the car with the tailgate up and watched the race from there (we were pretty close to a corner of the course), I decided to carry on and meet up with Sarah. It started raining harder. And harder. Until it was completely pouring. Luckily, Sarah brought a beach umbrella that was propped on its side, so we all huddled under it to stay mostly dry (except for Emma - she stayed in the stroller, partly protected from the stadium seat above her and partly under the umbrella). It was wet and cold, but we made the best of it! Josh got second place in the race, which made it a little sweeter. Jim and Josh (and I'm sure all of the racers) were freezing afterwards!
