Emma's First Birthday

We had such a fun time celebrating Emma's birthday!  We started the day with walking toy activities (she's loving practicing walking, with the help of the walking toys) and finished with gifts, and of course, cake.  The Flanagans joined us for a low-key party consisting of a simple barbecue and cake, which made Hannah very happy (she had been talking about seeing Ryan all day).  Needless to say, Emma loved the cake.  She didn't so much car for the birthday girl tiara we tried to put on her.  And she was quite silly after all that sugar.  Hannah also loved the cake... although she basically scraped all of the icing off and ate just that.

This birthday is bitter sweet.  I can't believe Emma's first year is over and how quickly it went by, but I also am so happy that she is healthy and growing and learning and becoming a toddler!  And, she'll always be my baby.
