Emma is cruising along the couch - the next step is walking! Here is a video.
And when she's not cruising, she's trying to get to something she shouldn't, however she can (usually climbing over me on the couch and sometimes trying to launch herself OFF the couch... she has no fear!).
Jim had a little bike-racing extravaganza this weekend. Two races on Saturday and one on Sunday. It was a good weekend - his team won the team time trial on Saturday. Jim was very happy. To celebrate, we went to our friends' Leigh and Kevin's house for a the first barbecue of the season. Emma enjoyed playing in the grass with Lindsey (after a minor meltdown about being left over there without an adult within arm's reach) and Hannah enjoyed playing with Ryan (even when he rammed into the cozy coupe she was driving around) and eating ice cream.
On Sunday we went to Hannah's friend Ian's birthday party (actually, I think Emma is probably better friends with Ian's little brother Finn than Hannah is with Ian - they just haven't played together that much; they were in music class together for awhile, though). It was at Dardanos, the gymnastics school nearby, and was a lot of fun. Hannah mostly wanted to play on the low beam by herself, but eventually got adventurous and did some of the group activities, like playing with the parachute and lining up on the trampoline while one of the gym wardens jumped over the kids (a little scary to watch!).
Emma had fun hanging out in the baby section, playing with baby toys (thanks for bringing toys, Maureen!).
