Adventures in Toddler-Bed Land

It has been an exhausting week of trying to get Hannah to stay in her new toddler bed when we put her there and stay there in the morning until it's wake-up time (when her special clock turns yellow).  She completely understands that we want her to stay in bed and that the blue on the clock means night-time and yellow means wake-up time.  She just doesn't want to stay in bed.  I can't blame her - we just gave her a lot of freedom and she wants to take advantage of it.  But I really don't like getting up at 5:30 and repeatedly bringing her back to her bed.  Yes, it's cute when she comes in and says, in her sweet voice, "I need to go potty," but the earlier it is, the less cute it is.  Hannah, it's o-dark thirty.  Potty can wait.  Go back to sleep.  It's also very cute when she comes in after the clock turns yellow shouting, "Daddy!  My clock is Lellow!  It's wake-up time!"  and then virtually drags Jim out of bed.  Needless to say, we are all very tired (including Hannah), and hopefully she'll start to self-regulate her sleep schedule (and ours) very soon.

Blue means sleep, child!
