The Casting

Emma got her cast put on late this afternoon.  She was greeted at Children's Orthopedics with apple juice and goldfish, so we were off to a good start.  It all went very well.  Emma got to pick the color of her cast from a ring of colors (she liked the ring but didn't really pick a color - I did that for her, picking the color I thought she and Hannah would enjoy most, PINK!).  She was so patient while the nurse put layers on - first a sleeve, then some gauze-like stuff, then the cast, then something to harden the cast.  And the best part was that Cow got a cast, too!  Emma loved that.  Cow gets his cast off in two weeks when Emma does - two-year olds and cows heal fast!
