An amazing (and somewhat concerning) thing happened this morning - Hannah slept until after 10:00 am. That's right - she slept nearly 16 hours. My guess is that she doesn't get quite enough sleep at daycare and was just making up for it. But it was weird. Unfortunatley we didn't benefit from it - the alarm clock accidentally went off at 6:30 and we never really got back to sleep because we expected Hannah to be waking up soon. Oh well.
Jim went up to Boulder this morning for a ride while Hannah slept late and then joined me for music class (I actually kind of had to wake her at 10:10 to get ready for class). I love Music Together. It is so much fun - Hannah really seems to like it. Jim called me at 1:35 saying he was on his way back from his ride and just saw something incredible - two planes crashing in the sky over North Boulder. He saw what looked like an explosion and then something on fire coming down with a parachute (among other things coming down). We don't know the whole story yet, but two planes collided. Really awful story.
When Jim got home we all went to the Denver Art Museum for a "free day." It was packed, but still fun. We don't particularly love the collections, but the museum itself is such a cool building. Hannah found the art to be pretty interesting to look at, but she enjoyed watching the people even more. This shot is of Hannah on a bean bag in this pretty cool installation. She has her eyes glued to some kid jumping from the ledge behind her onto another bean bag.
This shows another part of the installation where people are cutting out words and pasting them onto the wall. So this was a pretty interactive thing that was neat for kids (older than Hannah, of course). There were a few other "kid" areas in the museum that look like they'd be neat to go to when Hannah is a little older.
Tomorrow is our friend Dustin's 40th birthday. He's currently at a boys weekend in Tulsa (the home of the only bachelor in the group), but his wife Farrell threw him a birthday party with a bunch of us local friends on Thursday at a tatami room at Sushi Hai. I drank two hot sakes and had my first buzz in a long time. Fun stuff. Below is a picture of the buttons Farrell made for the event. This is Dustin at some formal when he was 16. Pretty funny.
